Mugello

Mugello is a synonymous of nature, art and tradition. This zone is not only famous for its beautiful mountains and hills, but also because you can “breathe” history, art and culture there. Indeed, many famous artists were born in Mugello. An example is the famous painter Giotto who was born in Vespignano in 1267. The legend says that one day while Giotto was drawing a sheep on a rock, was seen by Cimabue, one of the most renowned Florentine painters from the 1200. Cimabue who was so impressed by his talent that decided to take the young guy as an apprentice in his shop, becoming in this way his “pupil”.
